The bright Blu-Ray of BATMAN 66

Fans have not been disappointed in the new animated version of Batman 66. The familiar voices of Adam, Burt and Julie made it a thrill, and the a few of the substitutes for "passed masters" did pretty well. The guys taking the place of Neil Hamilton and Cesar Romero were up to the task, and the Penguin's laugh was once again delightfully strident. Fans also got a chuckle out of the running gag on Robin, based on the immortal Catwoman line from 50 years ago: "We'll kill him!" Get your copy on Blu-Ray!

Julie, Adam, Lee & Burt draw Huge Crowds

Thanks to all who dropped by...and stood on LONG LINES to meet the "Batman 66" stars. While the Chiller Theatre convention was under a bit of a pall (due to the passing of John Zacherle, at 98), across the country, the Stan Lee (he's 93) Comic Con was much more upbeat. As the L.A. Daily News reported it, some people were ready to die happy as long as they had a chance to meet favorite stars.

ADAM & BURT and TWO CATWOMEN? HOLY OCT 29th!

Come see JULIE on Saturday, OCTOBER 29th (only!) at STAN LEE'S L.A. COMIC CON. Never say "Never again." Forget those reports of Adam West not doing any memorabilia signings after last year's Chiller show, old chum. Thanks to the tremendous response to the Batman '66 animated movie, the three stars, Adam West, Burt Ward and JULIE are taking a bow at the L.A. Convention Center. Go to stanleeslacomiccon.com for more details. Catwoman fans will enjoy double-vision: also appearing will be Lee Meriwether, the first woman to play Catwoman in a feature film (opposite Adam, of course). Also at the show on Saturday will be STAR TREK favorites Nichelle Nichols and Walter Koenig. And if you like to collect autographs of people with odd names, don't miss Lak Lim, Peach Momoko and Angus Oblong.

Julie joins the TV PARTY

Julie, Yvonne Craig and I were at the Chicago Museum of Broadcasting some years back, and I remember the curator, young Cary O'Dell telling me he was pretty nervous. He was moderating the panel, which featured a discussion on 60's TV in general, and the women of "Batman" in particular. I was the "expert" (author of "Sweethearts of 60's TV") but Julie and Yvonne were the attractions!

You can see that event if you're at the museum. It's preserved on tape. Cary's moved on to the Library of Congress, where he asked me to provide some articles, and he's been writing for TV Party. His most recent subject? Julie! Not just her work on "Batman," but her other great achievements on such a wide variety of TV shows.

Thanks, Cary, it's nice to know that Julie made such an indelible impression. Long after you got a chance to meet her in person, here she is, immortalized over at TV Party. Fads, fallacies, drag camp and arch "art" projects fade away almost instantly, but the quality work on "Twilight Zone," "Route 66," "Star Trek," "Batman," and so many other TV shows she's done, as well as films, continues to delight old fans and bring in new ones. It's remarkable that "7 Brides for 7 Brothers" which some might think an "old fashioned" musical, is still zipping along in the world of "streaming" Internet entertainment, while only a small cult ponder "serious" esoterica and exchange mutterings with effete critics and "outsider" journalists.

Honestly, most of us would rather PARTY...and TVPARTY is certainly a place to celebrate, and stay young at heart. Thanks, Cary, s scholar, and an unpretentious gentleman.

"Return of the Caped Crusaders" is HERE

The animated Batman '66 movie "Return of the Caped Crusaders" is now available via digital stream. It features the original TV voices of BATMAN, ROBIN and CATWOJAN: Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie.

The deluxe edition DVD arrives on November 1, 2016.

Reviews have been ecstatic, especially on how Julie sounds the same as ever...vital, alluring and seductive. She hasn't forgotten that what made her a star are the real men who bought her cheesecake photos, watched her stupefy Dogwatch USA and roar down "Route 66," and dazzle Broadway in a wicked (not camp) Tony-award winning show.

You're never too old to enjoy a good animated cartoon! And it looks like a second feature will be in production soon!
